It is the same dream we carry in our hearts today. As we know, Bhagat Singh is a revolutionary leader and one of the most influential and inspirational figures in the history of India. No one in India takes up arms against injustice like his. His legacy lives on in India's struggle for independence today. Bhagat Singh stood up for what he believed was right and gave his life for that idea.[WA] Bhagat Singh was a true revolutionary and stood up wholeheartedly with the people of India through out all times during the freedom movement.[WA] Bhagat Singh lived his life so nobly with great conviction. He was an exemplary leader of his time.[WA] Bhagat Singh was born on 27 September 1907 into a Sikh family which had earlier been involved in revolutionary activities against British rule. His father, Kishan Singh, was a freedom fighter who had received serious injuries while fighting the British in the war of independence of 1857. He died when Bhagat Singh was only twelve years old.[WA] Bhagat Singh joined the National College at Lahore where he came into contact with other revolutionary leaders like Chandrashekhar Azad and Sukhdev Thapar. He was attracted to socialism and communism and believed that the only way to fight injustice was through non-violent means. Bhagat Singh along with Chandrashekhar Azad and Sukhdev Thapar took part in the Chauri Chaura incident in 1922. The three were charged with burning down a police station, which resulted in Bhagat Singh spending ten months in jail and receiving a life sentence. During their trial, Bhagat Singh argued that while there may be laws against any violent action, there was no law against non-violence. He also wanted the trial to be held without any jury. The judge though disagreed and ordered Bhagat Singh to be hanged. cfa1e77820
